Mrs. Martin's Second Grade

     Welcome to Second Grade!!! The beginning of the year is always so exciting, with so much to look forward to; new friends, fun activities, new learning adventures, and challenging group projects!  AND now, many thanks to ESF, our own set of classroom chromebooks! (We will be putting them to good use, I assure you!) 

    About Me:  My hobbies include swimming, hiking, gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with our grandchildren!  I have three grown daughters, four grandsons, and Mr. Martin has two grown children, two granddaughters and one grandson. They are all so much fun! 

     I've taught in our district for 20+ years, been a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teacher, was on a special assignment in the district office for five years teaching technology, (please see the technology link in the menu above) then recently took a leave of absence and taught in Turkey and Germany for two years.    Having the opportunity to teach abroad was the realization of  personal goal.  I'm proud to be a Eureka teacher and so very happy to be home. This is my third year back and my third year at Oakhills teaching second grade! I'm a pro now! 

     And ...yes, in case my name sounds familiar, I am married to the amazing Mr. Martin, former Eureka teacher (Greenhills, Eureka, Ridgeview) with the distinction of teaching 34 years in our amazing district!  He's retired now but will sometimes, if we're lucky, make an appearance in the classroom! 

     Most importantly, I love teaching, am young at heart, and I look forward to being with my class each and every day!
