Here's a little info. about me.
I've been teaching at Oakhills School since it opened and prior to that I taught at Greenhills School, in fact my career has spanned 33 years. Teaching children to “read, write, and understand mathematics" is my mission. I believe that great teachers are lifelong learners and over the years I have taken countless courses. For example, I attended a course called Education Through Music (ETM) which helps me use music to enhance children’s learning in the classroom. I've attended "Gate Conferences", which gave me important insight into the unique needs of gifted students. I've participated in numerous district training classes, most recently several "Twenty-First Century", "Common Core", and technology courses. This summer I attended a district class on our new English Language Arts curriculum.
I’ve been married for 39 years and I have two adult children. My husband a 36 year career educator and retired three years ago. Our family has been part of the Granite Bay/Roseville area for the past 30 years. Our daughter and our son both attended school in the Eureka Union School District from K-8th grades and then went on to Granite Bay High School. Both attended universities for 4 years and graduated with their Bachelors degrees. Our daughter is a Senior Pharmaceutical Sales Rep/Trainer for Bayer and lives in Danville, Ca. and she just became engaged this summer. Our son is a National Account Manager for Diageo, married his college sweetheart, and moved to her hometown of Newport Beach, Ca. They are expecting their first child (my first grandchild) in March! This will be a busy and exciting year for the Hab family!
My hobbies include reading, shopping, decorating, cooking, baking, and traveling. I love the ocean, sailing, cruising, and exploring other states and countries! Thai, Mexican, Italian, and Seafood(sushi) are some of my very favorite foods. Bend(OR), Mercer Island(WA), Maui(HI), Italy, Spain, Mexico, and the BVI, are some places I love!
