I have been teaching for the EUSD since August of 1994. I love teaching first grade at Oakhills! Prior to 1992 I taught in Menlo Park, California. I feel that teaching children to “read, write, and do math” is an important and a rewarding job. Good teachers are lifelong learners – over the years I have taken many courses. For example, I completed a course called Love and Logic that helps me enhance children’s learning in the classroom. I have participated in the district's twenty-first century courses, Common Core trainings and technology courses. My biggest goal for my students is to come to school and go home happy and confident.
I’ve been married to my husband for 27 years and we have three daughters. Our daughters all attended school in the Eureka Union School District from K-8th. My oldest daughter Mackensi is a 3rd degree blackbelt and teaches sport karate and travels all over the world. She now trains in Los Angeles as a stunt double. Kylie graduated from GBHS last year and is now attending college. Gracie is a freshman and the last to attend GBHS. She is also a cheerleader and loves high school.
As for me... I love Sunflowers and actually all flowers! They can just brighten any day! My hobbies include, reading, going to the movies, shopping at Target and getting my nails done with my girls. Due to my busy schedule, dining out with my family is relaxing for me. I love Italian, Mexican and casual dining like Chilis, Red Robin, Jacks or Texas Road House.
