Dear First Grade Families,

 

Welcome to first grade!  I have been busy preparing our classroom and planning curriculum for the school year.  In first grade students will work on their independence, developing their academic skills, and becoming compassionate citizens.  I look forward to working together in helping the students become successful learners.

 

I am excited to teach your child and to get to know them this year.  I look forward to getting to know them this year.  Thank you! I am looking forward to a fantastic year!

School begins at 8:30 am every day.  Students must arrive by 8:30, but not earlier than 8:15.  A supervised recess begins at 8:15.  Students should drop their backpacks at the classroom door and go directly to the playground (please do not let them stand at the classroom door.)  When the bell rings, the students will line up in our designated area and wait for me to come and get them.  Students will be dismissed at 2:55 each day, with the exception of Monday, when students will be released at 1:45.  Thank you for making every effort to be on time each day to drop your child off and pick your child up.

 

I look forward to meeting you at Back to School Night, Wednesday, August 24th.  This is your opportunity to find out what we do in first grade, our class schedule, and other useful information.  Thank you for leaving little ones at home on this night.

If you need to contact me, email is the best way.  I check email regularly and do my best to respond quickly.  You may also call the school office.  The secretary will leave a message in my mailbox.  I check my box when possible, but will not be able to return calls until after school or the next day.
